Youth Programming

Registration is open the 2024 camp season.

Lincolnville Boat Club runs a summer youth program. Kids join us for a week of day-camp, Monday through Friday, where they enjoy the opportunity to sail, row, swim, and adventure. Our program is unique, where kids and counselors explore alongside one another, on Norton Pond, at the beach, on the ocean, and even in the Camden Hills. We offer two types of youth programming. Our half-day sessions are meant for kids interested in sailing and learning specific sailing skills. Our full-day sessions are open to all children (no sailing ability requirement), who will have the opportunity to engage in a variety of lessons, activities, and games.

Partial Day courses: The Beginner session focuses on sailing and improving sailing skills.

All Day Session:The Water Adventure session is open to all skill levels and extends beyond sailing. Activities might include rowing, kayaking, swimming, sailing, hiking, and exploring the shoreline.

Beginner Sailing

This session is open to kids who have never sailed before or are not confident enough in their sailing abilities to enter an intermediate course. It focuses on providing kids with a fun opportunity to learn and feel comfortable and safe on the water. Kids spend the majority of their time learning to use a tiller and rudder, tacking, jibing, and knot tying. Swimming and paddling are additional activities.
Hours: 9-12; Ages: 8 -12; Cost: $165

Water Adventure

This session is open to anyone! There are lessons and activities ranging from reading charts, a nautical field trip, and even testing bouncy of boats. A typical day will include sailing instruction, actual sailing, relevant games, and water activities. Kids might kayak, swim, and paddle board too! We chose our activities based on the weather and what the kids enjoy. This is a full day session and kids should come prepared with lunch and extra clothing.
Hours: 9-4; Ages: 8-12; Cost: $325
